Bringing state-of-the-art LED Lighting to Hobbyists
SaikoLED is a project founded to fill the huge hole in the
availability of modular, state-of-the-art LED lighting for use by
hobbyists.
7 Saiko5 Fixtures being used with audio analysis software at Burning Man 2011 in Nevada.
SaikoLED Mission:
Meet our exacting personal standards for high power LED lighting.
Utilizes a well-established hobbyist platform in order to
achieve basic control, and to produce fully open-source code to
control the LED lights.
Utilizes open-source, high quality tools to provide powerful
features missing in other LED light fixtures, as well as to enable
individuals to participate in improving the project.
Work towards achieving manufacturing scales which allow for lower cost lighting as compared to commercial LED light fixtures.

Also, check out our new media from our LA Demo. We are also now doing Rentals of equipment to short-term shows in the Denver and Boston areas!
The Saiko5 WiFi Color Changing LED Light Fixture is brighter than other fixtures in its price class, is totally open for hacking, and has software examples for using PureData, Python, and C to control the lights and easily have them interact with music or other inputs.
The Saiko5 WiFi LED Color Changing light fixture is designed to throw 800 lumens of light (1000 effective), is controllable over WiFi easily from a computer using the Open Sound Control protocol, and is based on the Arduino hobbyist board to allow for easy hacking. All firmware, software, and hardware is Open Source either using the GPL or the Creative Commons licenses, to allow for more active interaction between hobbyist programmers, hardware developers, and software developers. The fixture also features a flex arm for easy pointing of the light, is assembled and designed in Colorado, and has focusing optics to allow for throwing a bright spot from a large distance.
